Tecnorenova and Carpers, two Vilalba-based companies, won the grand prize at the 1st Entrepreneurs Gala, which was organised by the Sete Pontes Business Association and held in Vilalba.

Tecnorenova and Carpers, both based in Vilalba, won the grand prize at the 1st Entrepreneurs Gala, which was organised by the Sete Pontes Business Association.

Alberto Román, the manager of Tecnorenova, a company specialising in wind power , was named Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition of his work over the last 22 years in the construction, maintenance, and repair of wind farms. The company has an annual turnover of €25 million and employs 150 people.

Marta Seoane was named Businesswoman of the Year for the Carpers project, which launched last year with an initial production of 15,000 units of pink gin.

In addition to the two winners, five honourable mentions were awarded to other Vilalbosa companies. Mariví Sanjurjo, from Sanjurjo Moda, received an award for her work in the service sector, and Ernesto Prieto was recognised as the best Vilalbés entrepreneur abroad for his company, HUSO 29 Renovables, which is also involved in the wind power sector and is located in Las Somozas.

Entrepinares cheese factory received the third prize for its social and corporate responsibility. 49% of the company’s workers are women. Lactalis was also recognised for its international character. Finally, Severiano recognised an entrepreneur from the region.
