In 2014 and 2015, Tecnorenova carried out the assembly of 86 2.5 MW Goldwind G109 turbines in Penonomé, Panama. The 2.5 MW Goldwind G109 wind turbines have a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) that eliminates the need for electric field excitation along with the power issues related to it.
The PMG operates more efficiently at part load compared to other types of generators. Due to the absence of brushes to wear out, issues are significantly reduced, so activity time and costs related to turbines´ lifetime is improved.
